West-Mont's Futures Academy aims to create a fun, friendly, challenging environment that helps develop creative young soccer players and instills a passion and love for the game.
Futures Academy players are immersed in an environment where the primary focus is on learning and developing each player's fundamental soccer skills, such as dribbling, 1v1 abilities, passing & receiving, and shooting & finishing. Training sessions will be fun and competitive to improve the skill level of each player.
The Futures Academy is a year-long program that starts in the fall and runs through the spring, although players can choose to participate in only one season. Each player will receive seasonal, weekly, curriculum-based training sessions, all one-hour in length and led by professional coaches. Players will participate in two to three club festivals and/or play-date events each season.
Participants are encouraged to participate in the West-Mont Intramural program
as well, which provides another weekly training session and a weekly game. Players who participate on a West-Mont U8 Travel team are not eligible for the Futures Academy.
