Program Overview

Our Intramural program offers a fun, exciting environment to play and develop at a very affordable price. The program is geared toward players who are either new to the sport or don't want the commitment level of Travel soccer. We offer two separate seasons: fall and spring. Click here to learn about the spring season.

Players are assigned to age-appropriate teams based on preferences indicated during registration. Each team is assigned a volunteer coach, who participates in a pre-season meeting and receives weekly practice plans.

Teams practice once per week, at either HillTop Soccer Complex or another nearby facility. Games are played on Saturdays, except in the case of makeups. The season ends with Fun Day, which includes a knockout-style tournament where teams compete for championship medals. Players who don't win the championship receive participation medals.

YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS. WE'VE GOT ANSWERS!

  • What is the time commitment?

Teams practice one night per week. Practices are either 5:00-6:00pm or 6:00-7:00pm.

Games are played on Saturdays at HillTop Soccer Complex. Game times vary each week, but the full season schedule will be released before the season begins. Teams in the U5 Nippers program do not practice during the week - they practice and play on Saturdays.

  • My child is under the age requirement. What do you offer?

We suggest you check out our friends at Soccer Shots, who offer soccer for children as young as two. We are proud to host this program at our HillTop Soccer Complex.

  • My child is interested in a more serious commitment. What do you offer?

For players age 6 to 8, we recommend our Futures Academy program.

For players 8-19, we recommend our Travel program.

  • Where can I see the practice and game schedule?

PlayMetrics is our platform for all information. On PlayMetrics, you will be able to see the schedule, communicate with coaches, see the team roster, and communicate with other parents. We highly suggest you download the PlayMetrics app.

  • Do you offer any discounts?

    We offer the following discounts:

    • Early-Bird Discount: $15 off until 6/15
    • Sibling Discount: $5 for first sibling, $10 for second
  • What do I receive for my registration fee?

In addition to participation in the league, each player will receive:

    • a uniform, including shirt and socks
    • Fun Day medal
    • secondary medical insurance
    • EPYSA registration
    • qualified referee(s) for each game
    • a volunteer coach
    • customer support
  • Why do you charge a late fee beginning 8/1?

We charge a $30 late fee for several reasons:

    • We order uniforms well in advance of the first games. For players who register late, we have to order additional uniforms and incur additional shipping costs.
    • We form teams, assign coaches, and develop the practice and game schedule in advance. Each time a new player joins, it affects all the moving parts by potentially requiring roster changes, the creation of a new team, finding a new volunteer coach, etc.
    • The sooner all players register, the better we can operate the league and provide a great customer experience.
  • What must I purchase on my own?

Every player must wear shin guards. Soccer cleats or sneakers may be worn (cleats are preferred for older ages). We recommend players wear black athletic shorts during games.

  • When will my child be assigned to a team?

We aim to form all teams at least two weeks in advance of the first games.

  • What is Fun Day?

Fun Day is the last day of the Intramural season. It is a tournament-style day of games, leading to the crowning of age-group champions. All teams will receive medals and take a team photo. Many teams play multiple games on Fun Day, so please plan accordingly.

  • May I request a certain coach?

Due to the size of our program, we cannot honor coaching requests.

  • Can I request to be on the same team as another player?

We try to honor carpool requests. Both players must list each other as carpool requests on their registration.

  • When and where are practices?

The U5 Nippers do not practice during the week. They will have all practices and games on Saturdays at HillTop Soccer Complex.

All other age groups practice one night during the week. Coaches select the practice night for their team. Requests for specific practice nights cannot be honored. During registration, you may select one night that you are not able to practice under the conflict night section. If a conflict arises, we will do our best to switch your child to another team.

Practice locations include but are not limited to HillTop Soccer Complex, Anderson Park, Brooke Elementary, and Manderach Park.

  • What is the refund policy?

We do not grant refunds after the season has started. The club will grant a full refund if we cannot place your player on a team. We will not grant refunds for reasons of friend requests or carpooling accommodations.

In the event of a season cancellation prior to starting the season, members will receive a full refund minus a $25 administration fee or receive a coupon that is equal to the full registration amount that can be used toward any soccer program within the club for up to two years.

The club may, however, in its sole discretion, consider refund requests in the following cases:

    • player moves more than 50 miles away
    • player becomes injured or ill and can no longer participate in the season
    • any other exigent circumstances the club deems necessary or appropriate.

Refund process: Email written requests to Rick Evans. Refunds will be processed within 30 days.

  •  My child is on the waitlist. Will he/she be accepted?

Players are placed on the waitlist when they register after the deadline. If a roster spot is available, players will be placed on a team. You will not be charged until your child is placed on a team.

  • I am coaching. What should I expect?

Responsibilities: Coaches are responsible for running practices and games, communicating with parents and being familiar with age-group rules/policies. Coaches also distribute uniforms to their players and communicate picture day information.

Equipment: Coaches are provided with a West-Mont coaches shirt. A limited supply of cones and pinnies are available to borrow for the season; please see Rick Evans to check on their availability. Players are encouraged to bring their own ball to games and practices.

Support: A preseason coaches meeting is held to provide all necessary information. We also provide access to a variety of soccer coaching apps that have great drills/games you can use during your practices. The Intramural Director and Age-Group Commissioners are available to provide guidance on any situations that arise during the season.

Clearances: All volunteer coaches must complete their background check clearances and upload them to GotSport before the season begins. This is mandatory under state law. We will send all coaches step-by-step instructions. Please be proactive and complete your clearances as soon as possible.
